New Menus at Torrisi Italian SpecialtiesEvan Sung for The New York Times

Rich Torrisi and Mario Carbone are changing the seven-course prix-fixe menu that has been standard at their Italian-American hot spot in NoLIta. Starting Dec. 1, the price will go to $75 from $65 (it was $50 when the restaurant opened two and a half years ago) and there will be two pastas to choose from, some additional courses priced as supplements, and a full dessert.

The cookies that have stood in for dessert will be put in a boxed gift to take home. And the more elaborate 20-course menu ($160), which was inspired by New York City history, will take on a seasonal theme instead. (This year, Eleven Madison Park created a stir by adopting an elaborate tasting menu based on the city’s past.)

“We are making these changes in an effort to continually evolve the restaurant,” Mr. Torrisi said. “Many guests having the prix-fixe often ask if they can have a tasting or order other dishes. With these changes we give guests the option to curate their own experience more and go bigger if they so choose.”
