Vancouver local gift baskets

(Healthcastle.com) If you're still working on your holiday shopping, you've probably got one or two people on your list who are hard to shop for. If any of those people love food, there are some great gift basket options available from local Vancouver producers that showcase foods grown and produced right here on the West coast. We're big fans of natural, whole, local foods - and these gift baskets incorporate those ideals into lovely gifts.

Five Gift Baskets Featuring Natural, Local Vancouver Foods

Gold Medal Gluten-Free box from Saul Good Gift Co: This gift box includes a wide range of local treats, including cookies, crisps, jam, honey, fruit, and chocolate, all gluten-free, produced by small companies in Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, and Fort Langley. The gluten-free gift box costs $98, but you can find other baskets full of local goodies ranging from $58 to $368 on the company's website, itsaulgood.com.

Best of BC gift box from Edible Canada: Edible Canada (formerly Edible BC), found on Granville Island, is a local business based on sourcing gourmet foods from across Canada. Their Best of BC gift box includes smoked salmon, crackers, a variety of gourmet salts, syrup, jellies, oysters, and more, plus a copy of the British Columbia Seasonal Cookbook. At $175, this is Edible Canada's top-of-the-line gift box. They have other gift boxes available starting at $55 at EdibleCanada.com, or at their store at the Granville Island Market.

BC Bites Boxes from Meinhardt: Meinhardt's BC-based gift boxes are available in three sizes: Mini ($35), More ($65), and Most ($95). These boxes contain Lesley Stowe's Raincoast Crisps, Truffle Pig Chocolates, RainCoast Trading sardines, and more. You can buy them online or in the store at 14th and Granville, where this Vancouver-based company has been located for 15 years.

Best of BC Basket from Urban Fare: For $80, this collection of BC local food includes products from Rogers' Chocolates, Lesley Stowe, Missing Goat Blueberry Farm, and Langford Preserves, among others.

A West Coast Christmas Basket from Purdy's Chocolates: This $100 basket includes local preserves, herbal tea, smoked salmon, crisps - and, of course, Purdy's chocolate. Purdy's has been a Vancouver favourite for more than 100 years - they opened their first store on Robson Street in 1907.
