LUNAFEST: A Ladies’ Night That Does Good Featured

Here at SHAPE, we love LUNA. Not only are their bars packed with the nutrients women need to nourish our bodies, they give us the opportunity to nourish our minds and souls as well.

Today kicks off LUNAFEST, a traveling film festival featuring films by women and about women. And 100 percent of proceeds at the more than 150 stops go to charity, with 15 percent going to the Breast Cancer Fund and 85 percent going directly to a local nonprofit. $1,000,000 raised by LUNAFEST for local causes
$556,000 raised by LUNAFEST for the Breast Cancer Fund
20,000 expected to attend LUNAFEST’s 2011-2012 season
950 films submitted to LUNAFEST annually
$1,000 awarded to each filmmaker selected to participate in LUNAFEST
734 women’s nonprofit organizations have benefited from LUNAFEST
