Celebrate National Coffee Day! Featured

Authors: shapedotCom Fit Foodies

Despite daily long lines at Dunkin’ Donuts, Starbucks, and the corner deli, National Coffee Day comes around but once a year on September 29th. To honor the important holiday, we’ve rounded up a few coffee fun facts from a recent survey conducted by Nescafé Memento. Just a little something to think about when you’re enjoying your favorite cup of joe.

$400: The average amount Americans spend on coffee creations annually. That’s enough to go on a six-night Caribbean cruise!

1 in 3: The number of specialty coffee drinkers who have received an eye roll from a barista for making a custom request.

92: Percent of coffee connoisseurs who feel that coffee shop beverages are over priced.

2 in 5: Number of people who incorrectly believe a cupcake has more calories than a fancy coffee creation.

2,555: Minutes caffeine-fiends spend waiting in line at their go-to coffee shop annually. That’s almost two full days a year!

#1: Ranking American Idol, E! News, and radio show host Ryan Seacrest received as the most deserving of a coffee break. Brad Pitt’s large family earned him the second place spot.

As an editor at SHAPE I have the chance to learn about the healthiest ways to cook, eat, and live from all sorts of experts but I’m also a single girl living in NYC with a busy schedule, active social life, and chocolate cravings. I’m here to share what works for me—and where I need a little help from you.
